We offer a full range of conventional precision engineering services including milling, turning, drilling, tapping, sawing, welding and assembly. We also offer a full range of sub-contract services such as finishing and gear cutting.
Milling & Turning
We can provide conventional milling and turning using the Colchester Master 2500 lathe for turning and the Protrak KVR 3000 (duel CNC and conventional functionality) for milling. This capability offers our operators a greater degree of control for specialist applications such as repairs, close tolerance surface finishing and other work that requires close attention by the operator.
In many cases the process of machining can be described more as an art than a science with operator gut feeling being more important than strict logical processing. Materials change shape during the machining process, tools can loose their edge, swarf can build up and need cleaning out. In many cases the benefits of using conventional machining processes can out way those of CNC technology, and are not always related directly to production volume.
Here at JS Precision Engineering Ltd we have the experience, capacity and skill to offer the right process for the right job.
Benchwork can be undertaken for small assembly and fabrication requirements including tapping, insertions, assembly of studs, bolts, washers, springs and other fixtures and fittings as well as kitting.
May jobs require additional services which require the use of third party services. We can project manage a wide range of additional services as required including:
- Surface Conversion
- Powder Coating
- Heat Treatment
- Gear Cutting
- Crack Detection
